Unfortunately, oversimplified remedies keep Vedic Astrology a fringe healing modality, rather than the “Eyes of the Vedas”, as it was named by the Vedic seers and sages. As the term “Yogi and enters deeper into the English lexicon, I have come to accept that this word is often being used to describe someone who enjoys doing Asana Yoga a lot!! While, I welcome this exalted word into the English, I am concerned that if we embrace this revered ancient word with so little qualifications the true qualities of a Yogi, that are every soul’s higher aspirations, may also get lost in the process.
While the Europeans were still debating whether the earth was flat or not, the Vedic sages had already figured out the effects of the earth’s wobble on the calculations of the zodiac. It is quite amazing how advanced the Vedic civilization was in mathematics, science and astronomy that even without the aid of modern technologies they had calculated that the orientation of the equinoxes to the fixed stars precedes or moves backward through the zodiac at the rate of about 50.3 seconds per year or about 1 degree every 70 years (and it adds to about 24 degree over 2000 years).
