Yoga of Life Purpose
There are thousands of self-help books and teachings that promise to help us discover our "life purpose," find our passion, do what we love and realize our dream. Naturally, we are drawn to these possibilities, as we are all motivated by our unique nature and intrinsically inclined to do certain things and to avoid others.
What does Yogic philosophy have to say about finding our Life Purpose and passion? The answer may really surprise you because it is based on our unique mental and physical (and Karmic) constitution.
In this class We will learn about the concept Varna Dharma or our Mental constitution types that corresponds to different vocations. In Vedic philosophy one is not necessarily better than the other, what makes one more spiritual than another is the intention behind our actions and not the profession or vocation itself.
Question: What actions do you do naturally and with the most intensity?
Knowledge/Compassion/Spiritual Liberation – Brahmin Varna Dharma
Protect/Lead/Promote Ideals/Risk Taking – Kshatriya Varna Dharma
Pragmatic/Business/Self Promotion – Vaishya Varna Dharma
Routine Repetitive Work - Shudra Varna Dharma
Innovative/out of the Box/Rebel – Unique and special Varna Dharma
We will also learn about the practical applications of the four Purushatras ,or four Yogic goals of life and how they can be utilized to find our life purpose; Dharma (Life Purpose), Artha (Security), Kama (Pleasure), Moksha (Liberation).
